I choose topic five to talk about Tao Qian (Tao Yuanming). The main concept â€Å"when the mind is far, its place becomes remote† describes the remarkable feelings which are still affecting how people value fame and wealth today. By analyzing two poems written by Tao, â€Å"Returning to dwell in gardens and fields I† and â€Å"Drinking wine â… ¤Ã¢â‚¬ , we can have a better insight into his mind, his experience and how he has achieved this state of mind in his poetry. First, I will introduce the poem â€Å"Returning to dwell in gardens and fieldsâ…  Ã¢â‚¬ . The first sentence â€Å"My youth felt no comfort in common things, by my nature I clung to the mountains and hills† opens the gate with recounting the past, claiming that he has disgusted the secular officialdom and loved the almighty nature since he was young. Therefore, this sentence reflects the poet would not get in cahoots with the secular noble. The second sentence â€Å"I erred and fell in the snares of dust and was away thirteen years in all† implies that the poet regretted about the past and deeply introspected his career. Thirty years represents a very long time and by saying this, the sentence reflects that is too late to regret. The third sentence â€Å"The caged bird yearns for its former woods, fish in a pool yearns for long ago deeps† uses metaphor to make a vivid image to readers. Culture varies from organization to organization and that is what sets them apart from one another. As an employee, a company’s culture should play a major part when deciding if the organization is a good fit for you. If management is transparent with their employees and there is a clear understanding of what the company’s culture is, and what is expected of everyone, it will have a positive impact on employees. I personally experienced a change in culture eight years ago when the company I worked for was bought out by a Fortune 500 compan y. When I was first hired it was a small â€Å"mom and pop† company where there was no culture or values. I am in the business of packaging oil, shortening, and margarine, and it was not until the transition was completed that employees were made aware of the dangers we were facing on a daily basis. Picture a warehouse where there are production lines filling bottles with oil, racks stacked with thousands of pounds of oil, forklifts driving around the production area, and shipping docks. Further, imagine employees walking freely throughout the warehouse without any personal protective equipment. There were risks all around us and we did not realize that at any given moment someone could have been hit with a forklift, or have a pallet of oil fall from above injuring someone, and at the same time creating a slip hazard. We were very lucky that no one was hurt. The very first thing the company did was to educate and train every employee in the warehouse and office on safety. First of all, the financial aspects of going out to the movies are the most appalling factor when you consider the facts. On average, a person will go the movies twelve times a year with a friend or family member totaling over eight hundred dollars or more. The person who stays home to see a movie for an easy eight dollars a month with Netflix also saves time and aggravation, as well as a considerable amount of gas money. Theatres also charge an excessive amount of money for snacks and sodas which could easily be prepared at home for a fraction of the price. Americans who choose to stay home were definitely more comfortable lying on the sofa in their underwear, since you can’t do that at the theater. You can enjoy a movie in the comfort of your own home without having to worry about the gross surroundings and bothersome people. The theater seats are uncomfortable and I don’t like sitting on a seat that has gum or candy stuck to it. The floors are sticky from all the spilled drinks. People in the theater are inconsiderate of others; always talking, cell phones ringing and parents paying no mind to their children running up and down the aisles. I must say being stuffed in a germ filled hole with one-hundred or more other people is not my idea of comfort. Finally, going to the movies can sometimes be more fun than sitting at home watching movies. Not a lot of movie goers can afford to buy the huge fancy home theater systems. They prefer to spend the extra money to go see the new action packed horror movie that is best seen on a huge screen with surround sound. The surround sound makes the movies more intense causing you to jump into your neighbors lap when the boogeyman jumps out of the bushes. I always have found it to be amusing watching other people get scared at nothing. You can’t usually get these effects at home unless you save all the money you would be spending at the theater, and purchased your own home theater system. I don’t understand why so many people spend so much money on going to the movies, when it saves a lot of money just staying home. I go to the movie theater occasionally to see a few of the smashing box office releases, but other than that, I just prefer to stay at home and cuddle up on the sofa with my fiance and a good movie.
